HOW IT STARTED

The first “unofficial” Current Events was a fundraiser fashion show in 2017. It benefited the Susan G Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. Raising over $1500. The first “Official "Current Event took place in December 2019. It was a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed event. Guests showed up in costume to a local bar to raise money and donate goods in time for the upcoming holiday. That was the moment when the "Current Events" Series went from an idea to IMPACT. We were able to raise over $600 that night for a local nonprofit as well as collect a HUGE amount of canned food goods for a local food bank. It has since taken off and been able to create an impact GLOBALLY by supporting international events.
